Both Virginia and Prince William County have seen a shift in population trends since 2013. Prior to 2013 more people (and their tax dollars) moved in from other states and counties than moved out.* That year also saw the governor's office change from Republican to Democrat. Prince William County continues to gain people from within the US only because of migrations from more liberal counties. We assert that election results contributed greatly to this trend and recent elections have only made this more challenging for the future. In contrast to progressive policies, the Republican party and conservative advocacies make Virginia more business and family friendly.
